new bridal hair comb: daisy feather flower fascinator

4 Nov

bridal feather hair clip

so my posting of new items has continued (sorry about the blip–i’m fighting a rough case of tendonitis in both arms, so i had to take a breather last week) — this week is my new daisy feather flower fascinator, which is a really sweet bridal hair comb. the daisy “petals” have 3 layers of feathers each, and the center has a swarovski and faux pearl accent, which is just about as feminine as it gets, no?

more to come this week, including more news veils & a few new fascinators. don’t forget to check out the shop for my other new items as well! xo

etsy birdcage veils for sale

well, at least it looks like this, packed up in boxes & on its way to kelly from kellan studios to be photographed. (sorry, i couldn’t resist.)

i  can’t show you yet, but expect lots of cage veils, some shapes you haven’t seen from me before, a smattering of tulle, and feathers, as always.

more to come. in the meantime, the 2009 collection is still available for sale online in the one little dove etsy shop.

my wedding, featured on weddingchicks.com

14 Jul

well hello, strangers!

the photos from my wedding, shot by the amazingly talented and super sweet heather from espana photography and kelly from kellan studios, are featured today on weddingchicks.com. take a gander, if you will, at my first attempt at a tulle wedding veil (and yes, i made it that morning).

i’ve got to say thanks to my ladies here for talking me into the blue leanne marshall dress — i’m so glad that you did! love you. xo

new products, and photoshoots, and planning, oh my!

10 Jan

happy new year! i realize that we’re ten days in, but it’s been a busy year already. i started work on my new collection for next month, which exciting–and the first few of those new pieces were photographed this morning in a shoot by the absolutely magical kellan studios, which will be shown on the bride’s cafe in the near future. i can’t wait, but i can tell you that the styling is going to be amazing–gorgeous dresses based on designs from the 50s and 60s, plus dotted veils, feather fascinators and loads of vintage style. it’s going to be great.

in other news, david and i are planning our own wedding! how did it get to be 2010 already? we recently booked the glorious heather of espana photography to document the day, and my planner extraordinaire (and martha stewart weddings alum) sister is helping out with planning some of the elements, which is a huge help. we tackled half of her great and exhaustive list  this evening(which i might share with you at some point, with her permission), finalized our budget, and worked out a color scheme, and it’s official: we should get married. we are pretty great at working with each other.

speaking of colors, i’m a color board novice, but here’s what we cobbled together from our inspiration sources.

pretty, no? the color ratios could change, but i think green, blue, yellow, royal and white are a pretty yummy combination.

the best etsy week ever

9 Dec

1) i was featured in etsy finds and the storque yesterday, in their “eskimo kiss” feature. I KNOW. that’s my fascinator in the upper-righthand corner.

i haven’t had a sale since the mail went out & the post went live, but google analytics and my etsy heart tally are both making me very happy.

2) i’ve been chosen to be one of twenty featured crafters at the wedding co‘s wedding show 2010 in toronto next month. it’s my first show, and i’m thrilled to be included! it runs from january 15-17th, and they’ll be giving away one of my fascinators on their blog, following the show. stay tuned for more details on that.

3) i’ve got a fascinator giveaway happening RIGHT NOW over at pip pip and all that! leave a comment on this post before 12/14 at 5PM EST to enter.

phew! it’s only wednesday, and it’s been a huge week. i love it!

awesome fascinator shots on ruffledblog.com

18 Nov

well, hello. i’m sick for the second time this month, so pardon my lack of posts. i’ve been busy boosting kleenex’s stock. thankfully, that didn’t stop amanda from ruffled and kelly and ryan from kellan studios from turning out some absolutely sick (in a good way) photos, featuring a few of my fascinators and some bridal makeup wizardry by kimara ahnert.

check out the rest and some great wedding day makeup tips and color suggestions on the ruffledblog.com post here.
